The Fisher F-75 Special Edition is a powerful machine designed to handle almost any detecting task in a light weight, ergonomic package. This limited edition model rewrites the book on how to make a metal detector. Features on the Fisher F75 Special Edition include a large LCD screen with target identification display with backlight, double-filter discrimination modes, trigger actuated ground cancellation, magnetic mineralization bar graph readout, trigger actuated pinpoint with variable audio pitch, hi-tech 11" DD coil, more than 30 hours operation with only four AA batteries, and memory save of last settings. The Fisher F75 features multiple operating modes to tackle almost any type of detecting - coins, jewelry, relics, and gold nuggets. The F75 is a very capable prospecting detector with performance as good or better than some detectors designed for that purpose alone. The new Special Edition version adds two new hunt modes and comes with both an 11" DD coil and 5" DD coil. All new from Fisher Labs - the oldest and proudest name in metal detecting!

Note that a previous version of this detector was released as the Limited Edition. The Limited Edition featured a camouflage paint scheme. The only difference in the Special Edition and the earlier version is the Special Edition features an all black paint scheme.

"The acclaimed performance of the F75 had people convinced that single frequency technology was stretched to the limit. Project Engineer John Gardiner has taken the F75 another leap forward with a more powerful microprocessor and new DSP code implementing two new signal analysis algorithms - The Boost Process substantially increases depth under most conditions, and the Cache Locating Process is designed to find large deep objects. The F75 is already considered by many to be the best all-around metal detector available, regardless of price. We made the F75 Special Edition even better." - Dave Johnson, Chief Designer.

Fisher F75 Special Edition w/11" & 5" DD Coil

The 5" round DD coil supplied with the F75 Special Edition offers exceptional sensitivity on small gold nuggets. A bonus is that this coil and detector combination are getting kudos on the internet for exceptional target separation in trashy ground, especially when used with the F75 in Boost mode. Large coils "see" several targets at once, leading to a condition referred to as "target masking". This occurs when a desired item is under the coil at the same time as an item set to be rejected as trash. The trash signal causes both the good and bad targets to be lost. The 5" DD coil has exceptional target separation allowing good items to be plucked from the midst of trash. It is thought far more good targets remain that are masked by nearby trash than exist at extreme depths, and so many in-the-know detectorists are using small coils and seeking out trashy locations to make finds missed by others.

Coil covers protect the bottom of the search coil from wear and tear. These thin plastic covers simply snap in place and sacrifice no depth or sensitivity. If you ever wear through the cover, simply pop it off and replace it.

An excerpt from the Owners Manual: Introduction to the Fisher F75

HIGH PERFORMANCE The F75 is a multi-purpose high-performance computerized metal detector. It has the high sensitivity and ground balancing control needed for professional gold prospecting, the discrimination responsiveness needed for serious relic hunting under difficult conditions, and visual target ID considered essential in searching for coins. The F75 operates at 13 kHz for good sensitivity to gold nuggets and jewelry as well as to coins. The F75 comes with an 11-inch elliptical Bi-Axial searchcoil for maximum detection depth in mineralized soils.

USER COMFORT The F75 is among the lightest and best balanced of all high-performance metal detectors, so you can hold and swing it almost effortlessly. The arm rest position is adjustable to fit your arm. The grip is durable high-friction foam elastomer, comfortable in any kind of weather. The controls are conveniently located and easy to learn how to use. Locking collars on the tubes eliminate rattling.

EASY-TO-USE & INFORMATIVE INTERFACE The entire menu is always visible on the LCD display. The LCD display indicates the electrical signature (target I.D.) of the detected metal object. The display provides continuous information on battery condition and on ground mineralization, which affects detection depth. Help messages are automatically displayed on the bottom of the display when necessary.

LOW OPERATING COST The F75 is powered by four AA alkaline batteries, which will typically last for more than 30 hours of use before needing replacement.

DESIGNED BY MANY OF THE INDUSTRY’S MOST TALENTED ENGINEERS The lead engineers on the F75 design team were John Gardiner and David Johnson. David Johnson’s previous Fisher design credits include the CZ-platform , the Gold Bug-series, most of the 1200-series, Impulse Underwater Detector, CZ-20 Underwater Detector, FX3 magnetometer, the Gemini 2-box locator, the XLT-16 Acoustical Leak Detector, and the XLG-80 Ultrasonic Leak Detector. David was supported by fellow electrical engineers Jorge Corral, Dimitar Gargov, and Mark Krieger. The mechanical design was a collaboration among David Johnson, Brad Fulghum, John Griffin, and Tom Walsh.
